Relief from stress-induced conditions and chronic pain
A holistic approach toward effective treatment and recovery
Welcome to Art of Stress Recovery
Hello and welcome. I am so pleased that you have chosen Art of Stress Recovery as a trusted partner in your treatment journey.
As the founder of Art of Stress Recovery, I take a multifaceted approach in developing specialised treatment plans that provide relief for patients suffering from stress-induced conditions such as chronic pain or fibromyalgia. These conditions are extremely complex and therefore need a thorough and holistic approach toward effective treatment.
You might be here because you are new to exploring treatment for your stress-induced illness. Perhaps you are seeking alternative pain treatment options to those you have already tried. Maybe nothing else has worked for you thus far. Or you might be frustrated that your pain has not been able to be medically explained. Regardless of reason, I am here to help.

"Kim's approach to therapy is so much more positive than I have ever experienced before, she had a wonderful way of taking things that are troubling you and making you think about them in a fresh and positive way."

The Mindbody Connection
In your treatment journey, you may have come across or been introduced to the terms mindbody pain, stress-induced conditions, neuroplastic pain, or tension myositis syndrome (TMS for short). These terms are synonymous with one another and refer to a process in which our unconscious emotional issues such as anxiety, past trauma, or fear, can result in physical pain or other symptoms.
Symptoms may include chronic fatigue, back pain, insomnia, anxiety, migraines, sinusitis, abdominal pain… the list is quite extensive. Even if you do not see your specific symptom(s) listed here, if you are experiencing physical, chronic pain that is persistent, cannot medically explained, or traditional treatment options have so far been unsuccessful, the answer may be mindbody pain.

Your Pain Is Real
To be clear, this is not to say that your pain is not real or is happening only in your mind. Just the opposite. Emotions and mental state are capable of changing a body’s physiology. The underlying cause of the bodily pain you are experiencing may be your mind’s defence mechanism against unconscious mental stress and emotions.
In other words, your brain is protecting you from these harmful emotions, and creates pain as a distraction from them.
That is why, when exploring treatment options for chronic pain conditions, it is important to treat the whole of the body. The more you are able to learn and understand the origins and foundations of your emotional responses, the better equipped you are to manage the events that trigger those responses. Over time, the management becomes easier, and the symptoms that emerge from the emotions lessen.
Together, we will explore the mindbody connection to first identify the emotional issues that you may not even be aware are feeding your chronic pain condition, and then influence them through a variety of treatment types, which are detailed below.

Treatment Types
Regardless of where you are in your treatment journey for your stress-induced conditions, neuroplastic pain, TMS, chronic pain, or fibromyalgia, I will work with you to provide comprehensive and holistic treatment programs tailored to your specific needs that factor in the physical, mental, and spiritual components, as well as your external world.

"Kim completely opened my mind to the possibility that my chronic pain was the result of stress and psychological thoughts and fears that had stemmed from worries and events from my past. I really am a different person now to who I was when I first started with Kim, and I have an abundance of gratitude for that."

Online Support Programme Option
I understand that not everyone is ready, or has the funds, to access my 121 support so I also offer the online SIRPA™ recovery programme.
This programme uses up to date pain science in their education because evidence shows this plays an important role in a pain relief approach. SIRPA’s approach is based on the understanding that unexplained chronic pain is due to neural circuits that have become learned and sensitised. Therefore by using a mind-body approach the aim is to reprogramme these learned neural circuits, while also identifying and addressing the underlying causes of the pain.
NB. SIRPA’s online recovery programme is available to purchasers from anywhere at any time and from a PC, Mac, phone or tablet. You can take it at your own pace and access the content at a time/place which suits you.
You can access my 121 support at any point in your journey. Should you take the online course and decide you would like further support, you can book a discovery call with me via the links above.
